1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. This information is used solely to authenticate you and manage your account.

Pool and Service Data

FlowBeacon stores information you enter about pools, properties, chemical readings, service visits, maintenance logs, inventory, and related notes. This data belongs to you and is used only to provide the service.

Media

If you upload photos or videos through the app, those files are stored securely in cloud storage associated with your account.

Usage Data

We may collect basic, anonymized usage information such as feature interactions and error logs to improve the application. This data is not linked to your identity.

Payment Information

FlowBeacon does not collect or store payment card information directly. Billing is processed by Stripe through our website. Please refer to Stripe’s Privacy Policy for details on how payment data is handled.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the FlowBeacon application
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure
  • Store and retrieve your pool service records
  • Send account-related communications (e.g. billing, security alerts)
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues
  • Improve the application based on anonymized usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, a secure database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time — including after cancelling a subscription — by contacting us at contact@flowbeacon.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for operational purposes after deletion.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal data with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), and Stripe (billing). Each operates under their own privacy and security policies.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business transfers: If FlowBeacon is acquired or merged, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your data in a portable format (available on request)

8. Cookies and Local Storage

FlowBeacon is a general-purpose application with no age restriction. We do not knowingly collect any information from children in a manner that would require special protections under applicable law. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the effective date above. Continued use of FlowBeacon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
